thomas j henry Tom lives and has a studio in Symington. He studied at Edinburgh College of Art 1979-1983 under Sir Robin Phillipson and went on to do a teaching qualification at St Andrew’s College of Education. He entered teaching in 1984 and started his teaching career at the Abbey School in Fort Augustus, from there he moved to Robert Gordon’s College in Aberdeen. From here he moved to a school in Edinburgh but after fourteen years had to give it up due to ill health. As part of his recovery he returned to his art training and has worked steadily to re-establish himself, this time as a professional artist. This exhibition has been part of his journey back to health and is the start of a new chapter in his life.
