Ed was born in Ayr in 1947 and after serving an apprenticeship as a carpet weaver and 22 years in the Royal Marines he retired in 1987.

He gained a BA Hons after studying for six years and it was during this time he found his love of art having been inspired by Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock and Anselm Keifer.

Taking up Art five years ago he became a member of various art groups and is a member of Moniaive and district Art Association and Dumfries and Galloway Fine Art Society.

Ed has his studio in an old Cow Shed beside his cottage on the outer edge of the Dalveen Pass where he lives with his wife Linda and labradors Maisie and Tinker.
